A Geological Tour of the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx

Please join us for a two hour field trip at the NY Botantical Garden in the Bronx on Saturday, April 6th!  Dr. Merguerian will be our tour guide and will prepare a PDF tour guide for the occassion.  The guidebook will cover bedrock and glaciation and will also discuss on-site evidence for post-glacial seismicity.

Each participant will be responsible for purchasing their own admission tickets ($35 for adults, $31 for seniors and students, and $15 for children) and it is recommended that tickets are purchased online for the "The Orchid Show: Florals in Fashion" prior to arrival.   Attendees will also have the option to obtain PDH credits for an added fee.  We ask all attendees to register for the event regardless of whether they will be requesting PDH credits or not.

Mass transit options include the subway or the Metro North Railroad Harlem line from Grand Central Station (the off-peak city ticket is only $5) and there is a station for the Botanical Garden or there is on-site parking for a fee.  More information about how to get there.

This is a rain or shine event that starts at 10:30am, please arrive by 10:15am to get settled in.  Attendees will be provided with the meet-up location the day before the event.  For those that want to make a day of it, the Bronx Zoo is across the street from the Garden (this is not part of the field trip).
